The Science Behind Photofractional®
Photofractional® uses IPL to target pigmentation and visible redness by delivering light energy into the upper layers of the skin. This energy helps break up discoloration and supports a more even-looking complexion.
The ResurFX™ fractional laser then creates controlled microchannels in the deeper layers of the skin to support collagen remodeling. As the skin heals, collagen stimulation helps refine texture, soften the appearance of fine lines, and promote smoother and more radiant skin.
The combined approach allows for visible improvement in both tone and texture over a series of treatments.

Photofractional® combines IPL and ResurFX™ in a single session to improve both skin tone and texture. IPL focuses primarily on pigmentation and redness, while ResurFX™ targets textural concerns and stimulates collagen. CO₂ laser resurfacing is a more intensive treatment designed to address deeper wrinkles, scarring, and advanced texture concerns with longer downtime. Photofractional® is often chosen for moderate concerns when patients want comprehensive improvement without the recovery associated with CO₂ treatments.
